The knitting questions, or the usual suspects

How long have you been knitting?
Oh I dunno. 1-2 years ago.

How did you learn to knit?
I learned the knit and purl from a family friend, and taught myself everything else.

Favorite thing about knitting?
How you can do it anywhere, sometimes even in school.

How long have you been knitting lace?

Um. Not very long.
Favorite thing about knitting lace.

When everyone crowds areound and says “Ooooo.”

The yarn questions, or flash your stash

Favorite lace yarn?
variegated or solids for shawls?
I love handpaint heathers, but I’ve never knitted with them. Varigated for shawls, definately.
Favorite lace color?
Leafy lace with green yarn.
Technique, or show us your skillz

Circs or straights?
Circulars, usually.
Favorite lace knitting trick?
Lace knitting trick?
Lifelines? If so with what?
Never used one. When I find a mistake, I usually deny it’s there for a couple of days, then rip the whole thing out and cry.
Fancy blocking wires, or just sewing pins stuck in your carpet?

What is this “fancy blocking wire” you speak of?

Pattern, or can you follow directions

shawls or lacey items?

triangle, rectangle, or circular shawls?
All. I like them all.
Charts or printed instructions?
Ooh goddess, charts.
Favorite lace you’ve knit?
My one lace project that was not ripped out is a periwinkle merino and cashmere lace triangle scarf.
Favorite lace you want to knit?
A leafy shawl in mottled green.

Favorite jelly belly flavor?
Watermellon. Cuz it has green on the outside, and then you take a bite, and whadaya know? It’s red! Ha!

What is the definition of irony?
A guy saying, “Gee, I don’t seem to be prone to sudden fits of inspiration,” and then his head explodes.

Why is my cat always puking in front of my son’s bedroom door?
Because your son has decided to cross stitch a fetching pillow cover instead of knitting a cashmere scarf for me.
What is your superhero power?
Poking people in the eye and laughing really loud.

If the laundry is 9 foot by 11 foot (just dreaming, that’s a big laundry room), and the walls are 8 feet tall, and you are going to tile the entire room in tiles that are 3 inches by 5 inches, what color should those tiles be?
They should be arranged in a decorative pattern depicting the Flying Spagetti Monster.
What’s for dinner tonight?

Laquerd Tofu. And if it’s not, it should be.

What is clogging my children’s bathtub drain?

    I like the looks of this blog, especially the chocolate background. Lots of yuks on this page, even for us non-knitting types.
    Watermelon jelly bellys make good Christmas candy because of the colors.
    Is Eric really red, or is he a Communist? or both?
    I thought irony referred to a shirt that was always wrinkled and needed to be pressed.
    Had fun in SF with you, and miss you a lot.
